On May 24, 2013, Pilentum Television started doing videos on YouTube. It all started many years ago in Germany, when the author Markus Lenz was trying to make photos and videos of model trains in macro photography and macro video mode.

Over time, a passion was born, namely to visit model railroad exhibits and model railway exhibitions for making videos about model railroading and railway modelling. At the beginning, Markus Lenz - also known as “Pilentum Television” - visited model railroad layouts and model railway displays in Germany. Pilentum’s video channel on YouTube has become very popular and the videos have been activated for the YouTube Partner Program. However, advertising revenue is not enough to pay camera equipment or travel expenses. Unfortunately, the revenue is similar to a tip.

I did not believe that Pilentum Television became more and more successful over the years. You have to keep in mind, that the whole project is not commercial. At any time, you can watch Pilentum’s videos on YouTube, for free. Because there is very little advertising revenue, I often thought about ending the project. But the friendly comments on YouTube and the many e-mail messages are an incentive to continue Pilentum Television.

If you like what I am doing, please support me on Patreon. Thank you.

What will Pilentum do with your money?

1) Pilentum has to invest in new camera equipment. The current camera, a Panasonic HVX 200, is now older than 12 years. In addition, the picture quality in 4K UHD is absolutely brilliant. But for this, I need new technical equipment.

2) I am often invited via e-mail to visit the fantastic model railroad layouts in the United States. I would like to do that, but for this, money must be available to pay the travel expenses.

3) In general, by supporting Pilentum Television on Patreon you give me the opportunity to focus more on YouTube, for example, to create videos in multiple languages, videos with subtitles and audio commentary, and much more.

Thank you so much for your support!
