Ollie Meres Hey Petter! I have to admit, I watched this before I went to bed last night and needless to say after I felt incredibly optimistic about my future prospects in the aviation industry. Bit of a generic question here but it has been troubling me a little bit: I am about halfway through my PPL currently and will be going down the modular route and I'm due to start my ATPL theory this coming August. To boost my chances of getting a Ryanair cadet job at the end of training what should I focus on in training? High ATPL passes etc? When going through the training I do intend on holding one or two outside related jobs as well and also to volunteer. At my given flight school students have the opportunity to do a FI course and become a flight instructor too but I'm hoping to apply for Ryanair straight away. So yeah, can you recommend anything that will strengthen my chances both when training and in my working life when I'm not training. Again, apologies if its too generic haha. Many thanks! Ollie

Petter Hornfeldt Hi Ollie! Great to hear that you liked the video. I am doing this exactly for people in your position. When it comes to special areas you should study in order to land an interview I have not much to contribute with. Make sure you get as good pass-rates as possible in your ATPL and CPL exams and get the training ready. As soon as you have your MCC done then fill in the application and keep your fingers crossed. The benefit of working and keeping the debts to a minimum will become very apparent when you are looking for your first job. It can take a year or so from when you are done until your first interview but it can also take a week. Keep working, there will be jobs available!

Ollie Meres Glad to hear that from someone like you. Yeah, suppose as a modular pilot from a Scottish flight school its the competition from the likes of OAA etc that I'm worried about and that is why I'm going to strive to succeed through flight training. In an interview there is only so much I can say to emphasis my passion for aviation but just want "life experience" alongside it too otherwise I will be treading water if you will. I'm thinking about becoming a Patreon on this page, it looks awesome! Keep up the good work and keep motivating young individuals like me!

Thor Undseth The Hermione is perfect! I feel you really managed to capture the essence of what she was in her first years. Is it possible to ask for another for next month? The close-up in this art style is really great, maybe where she is wielding magic? You whole portfolio is simply stunning Ilya :) I'm really glad I found your patreon page.

RAY DILLON Thanks, Kaz! Appreciate that. :D Yeah, I definitely recommend trying comics. You end up having to draw SO many various things and places and people that it really takes your art to a new level. Plus, it's a blast! Glad you like what you see here! And you've got some really imaginative stuff on your Facebook too! ~RAY

Robert Chapman I am completely new to this Patreon community, but I'm seriously considering pledging $10/month to you for entirely selfish reasons! ;) Seriously though, that is a fantastic idea you've got going on there with the whole helping to promote other artists work. I guarantee there are people that really appreciate the help. I'm the king of comments that go on for too long. So, I'll just say that I love the work you have on here, and I'll be frequenting your page semi-regularly I'm sure.

RAY DILLON Hey, THANKS, Robert! I really appreciate the kind words. And I'm psyched you see the potential with what I'm offering artists. I totally remember starting out fresh out of high school struggling to get people to look at my art thread on a comic book message board and being so happy to get like 30 views. :D Or taking out an ad in the back of a small circulation comic book magazine because that's all I could afford. Or asking to share links on other artists websites. And even now I see super talented artists that only have 30 followers or maybe 300, but they deserve thousands. They just have a hard time knowing how to get their work out there. So, being able to offer artists exposure to over 9,000 potential fans is just awesome for me! After I got more established, but still back in the day, I ran a studio that got quite a bit of exposure, and I loved getting new artists and seeing their fan-base grow and seeing jobs start taking off for them. So, this is an extension of that. I can't run a studio full-time now, but I can help artists gain an audience and get work! I get a lot of fulfillment out of that. As you can see I'm no stranger to long posts, either, so I look forward to seeing more posts from you and thank you for checking out my work! And I was just checking out some of yours! That Castlevania title screen is nuts! Great job! :D ~RAY

Robert Chapman You're a perfect example of what I love to see on the Internet. It's not always prevalent, but it's there. Paying it forward, as they say. Sounds like you've had an interesting adventure along the way. I recently read an e-book called "Creativity Inc." about the guy that got Pixar started. Just curious, and maybe I need to look harder, but have you written any e-books yourself? Seems like you have some valuable information that others would find useful/educational. Thanks for the epic reply!
