Hey there friend, I'm Plaid Klaus, comic artist and co-creator of the comic book series VOID TRIP
(published by Image comics) and TURNCOAT (published by TPub). Alongside my passion for drawing comics, I've always been excited about teaching and educating other aspiring artists. For that reason, I've started developing a blueprint on "How to Make a Comic Book." The plan is to release an affordable, start to finish, online guide for aspiring comic creators.

When I first began to pursue drawing comics, there were a mountain of questions.  Often I would get excited, start a project, hit a road block (simple questions like what are the basic types of paper, inks, tools) and my momentum would halt. My passion kept bringing me back to the page and with each attempt I would uncover a little more about the process of making comics. I don't regret spending three decades assembling all the tools and knowledge I needed to create comic books, but I do wish there had been a road map when I began.

That's what I'm planning on creating, a road map.  Now, every artist knows there are endless types of tools and methods for creating art; so while I will focus on supplies and materials, the main thrust of the series is going to be about the step by step process.  I want to deliver an outline of the actionable steps it takes to make a comic book and a list of tools and materials to explore along your journey.  I'm also going to develop a Facebook group where everyone can ask questions and share answers.

This Patreon page is the spawning ground for my online course.  Join up for $2/month and you will get premier first access to the videos I'm developing. Also, I will be checking in and communicating with everyone on any questions you have as I build out the course.  Questions you may have will possibly also drive educational future videos I create. This content won't be open to the general public.

Alongside early access to my online course, I'm also going to be posting content for my upcoming comic series.  Currently, I have two new comic series in the works. As I develop content for those books, I'll be posting sneak peeks here.  So, if you want a backstage pass to my personal creative process as it unfolds, join up and support the Patreon page.

If you've read this far, thanks for your time and I look forward to seeing you on the chat board!

Sincerely,

Plaid Klaus

Goals
$3 of $15 per month

THUMBNAILS: At $15/month, the Glimmer series Thumbnailing will begin at 1 page/month!  The thumbnails are a very exciting stage in the comic process, it's where ALL THE MAGIC happens, at least with the storytelling.  Of course, the pictures continue to get prettier and prettier, but the thumbnails are the foundation for the narrative of the comic book.  So, $15/month will go a long way!
