About PlayerPart

Playerpart assigns characters from the play to each participant (or Player), trying to give everyone about the same number of lines to read. Sometimes, you get a scene where you have to read lines for two characters who are talking to each other: we call these "conflicts". Playerpart tries to minimise the number of times this happens.

Sam and Hamish created to help people read Shakespeare aloud. There are plenty of improvements that could be made to this tool, here are a few ideas:
  • a doubling compatible feature;
  • split up large parts, perhaps by Act;
  • split parts up by Act;
  • split a reading into time blocks (e.g two readings);
  • the ability to generate a new selection of player parts with more parameters;
  • create director tools to plan for putting on a play;
  • better mobile support;
  • an improved website;
Perhaps you have a better idea? Let us know!!
