About The Pod Delusion

Do you despair at the state of the world? Does you reject the idea that we've had enough of experts?

The Pod Delusion is defined by a set of values: A commitment to evidence and reason, informed by humanism and (small-L) liberalism. A belief in a cosmopolitan, internationalist view. You might have noticed that these things have been in short supply recently. It's time to fight for them again. Or at least listen to a podcast that still believes in them.

The Pod Delusion first launched back in 2009 and initially ran until 2014. It relaunched in September 2019. Over the years we have tackled some of the biggest issues in politics, science and culture, hosted some live shows along the way and had a lot of fun. We also bagged some incredibly big name guests, from Sir David Attenborough, Dame Jocelyn Bell-Burnell and Astronaut Chris Hadfield, to Armando Iannucci and Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello.

The show is produced and presented by journalist James O'Malley, the original founder and editor of The Pod Delusion. He has previously written for a wide range of publications including the New Statesman, Wired, The Spectator, Politico, The Telegraph, TechRadar, Engineering & Technology and many more. From 2016-2018 he was the Editor of Gizmodo UK.

Please support The Pod Delusion on Patreon and maybe, just maybe, we can help nudge the world in the right direction again.
