Hello! I'm Kate Elisabeth Rolison, also known as poesiegrenadine, and this is a Patreon.

I'm a hand embroiderer. My work more often than not features words; I stitch words in books, stitch books, stitch words on clothes, and on antique textiles. Have a look at my portfolio on my website and work in progress on my Instagram.

I've been filmed in conversation about embroidery and mental health for Tate, diagnosed, amongst other things, a replica of Freud's couch with a personality disorder with the help of the general public at the Wellcome Collection, and held stitch ins to celebrate the history of women's protest.

I'm currently embarking on my most ambitious project to date; a hand embroidered graphic novel called Abnormal Feeling of Wellbeing. This will be an autobiographical tale of madness and recovery stitched by hand, exploring the history of embroidery as a therapeutic tool.

As I'll generate a lot of work-in-progress I thought I'd invite you along for the ride; for $5 or more a month you'll get a monthly blog post about the ideas and research behind the project. For $8 or more a month you'll get a digital illustration that isn't available anywhere else. And just because I'm nice like that, I might add in more goodies as I go. Oh, and all patrons get their name stitched into the "thank yous" in the back pages of the book.
