2018, I've decided, is the year that my writing and creating become the most central part of my existence. That means, nonstop submissions, public readings, editing roles, writing retreats, and conferences so that my pretty face is insanely visible. I want this year and every one that follows to focus on the creation of choreopoems that speak to marginalized communities and poetry that uplifts and illuminates the realities of "bein alive and bein a woman and bein colored" (Ntozake Shange). The more support, the better this work becomes!

Along this journey, my fans have been large and loud, and I'm so grateful. I can't stop writing simply because the love and support of those who have championed me from day one would never let me. None of this would be worth it without you.
Tiers
Submission Support
$5 or more per month
With this level, you will support my submission fees to various print and online journals and magazines around the country. The more support, the more I can submit! In turn, this tier supports the editors and reading boards at small presses and journals that often work for free or very little. Look at how your support supports others!
Writing Supplies and Maintenance
$10 or more per month
This level supports the random things that I need to maintain my practice that I forget I need until I need them: white board for outlining book-length projects, dry-erase markers, pens, printer paper, printer ink, tape (for taping my book-length projects on my office walls for editing), file cabinets, notebooks, USB drives, tea, etc. My practice involves lots of paper, so this could also include a recycling bin!
Website Maintenance
$15 or more per month
This level helps me pay for my website and all the accoutrements that entails. Since I run it myself, this helps defray the cost of that site as well as help it stay up to date with my readings, performances, and publications. This support helps you see my progress (which can be hard to see because most writing is done in secret, it feels) and find opportunities to catch me in person!
Undisturbed Writing Time
$20 or more per month
With this level, you will contribute to undisturbed writing time for me. This contribution will go toward gas money to get out of town for a day of writing off the grid, writing retreat submission fees (different from journal submissions as these are for retreats such as Cave Canem and Maribar Writing Colony, etc.), or simply pizza to be delivered to my house while I'm in writing mode and forget to cook. Time is a precious commodity and any help in blocking out those days is greatly appreciated!
Choreopoem Creation
$100 or more per month
At this level, you are supporting the ongoing work of writing and staging choreopoems, my primary scholarship. This supports theater submissions, actor and crew recruitment and compensation, venue fees, production costs, and promotional materials.

Patrons who supports at this level will receive advance notice of all choreopoem performances, and if you want to come see it, you'll get 2 free tickets!

Goals
1 of 15 patrons
When I reach 15 patrons, I will get back to my blog (poor little blog) and post a bi-weekly post about my writing process! These posts will focus on goal-setting, depression and writer's block, and what my practice looks like.
