Superweapons

First of all, we'd like to thank you for stopping by our humble Patreon page. We're just a small group of programmers, artists, and designers with a love for video games, and we're trying to make the kind of games we'd enjoy. We're hoping to make both games that scratch that nostalgic itch, and games that satisfy your craving for more experimental concepts. Currently, we're working on a 16 bit inspired exploration platformer that we hope will be a blast for new and old school players.

Superweapons will be a callback to the glory days of the SNES, particularly inspired by Super Metroid, but it will also benefit from modern design knowlege, and be without the limitations of true 16 bit. Essentially, it will be as good as we imagined the SNES was, but might not have actually been.

  • Nostalgia inducing colorful 16 bit inspired graphics.
  • Crisp, sharp controls.
  • A deep character creator, offering more than one-hundred potential character combinations.
  • Who you are matters: The type of character you create will affect how some npcs react to you, your starting abilities, and where you can travel initially.
  • Where you go matters: Building on the above, where you travel to begin with, will alter the layout of future areas. For example, defeating a major ice boss in a mountain, might cause an ice melt, which will flood a jungle below, making it more swamp-like.
  • At least 10 hours of gameplay. Even those who only play the core story will have a lot to look into.

A different kind of post apocalypse.

Two-hundred years... Two-hundred years to catch up on. BioCIn failed to contain its experiments. Its supersoldiers. It's god... When Pegasus escaped he freed his fellow genetic deviants to wreak havoc on the world. Humanity might very well have been driven to extinction by this army, had some of his kind not sympathized with their creators. Still, the world and its infrastructure crumbled under the relentless assault, and just when it seemed Pegasus would achieve his ultimate goal... he vanished, leaving his army, and his surviving enemies to scatter to the winds. Now, centuries later. You awaken. BioCIn did something to you and then sealed you away, but not any more. Now you've got a ruined world to rediscover, and two-hundred years to catch up on...

How will rewards work?

One might have noticed that beside the monthly tiers we have a credit system. This is to show that our rewards will work a little differently than usual. Essentially, for every 25$ spent towards Superweapons, we'll award a patron a credit. They can use that credit/those credits for either the monthly reward we have listed, or they can save up their credits for one of the higher tiers. This way, everyone involved, regardless of how much they are able to afford, will have the opportunity to save for any of the rewards if they so desire.
Tiers
Voter Tier
$5 or more per month
We'll occasionally have votes on things to include in the game. All of our patrons at 5$ and above will have their chance to vote.
Bronze reward (1 credit)
$25 or more per month
Spending at least one credit will start us on the path to creating a unique weapon for the game. The more credits spent, the zanier the weapon we'll make with you! For one credit, we'll work together to make a cool pistol or small melee weapon. For upwards of 10, we can really get crazy with a patented nottaBFG!
Silver reward (2 credits)
$50 or more per month
Help us help design a minor npc for the game. A cute pet in a village? A flustered townsperson? We'd love to hear your ideas.
Gold reward (4 credits)
$100 or more per month
Feeling devious? Spending 4 credits will allow you to help us create a basic enemy for the game. A spikey slug? A cruel marauder? A goofy three legged sloth?
Diamond reward (6 credits)
$150 or more per month
Spending 6 credits will  qualify you to help us create an npc that plays a bigger part in the game. A shopkeeper that has some vital information? The town guardian? A fellow hero (or maybe antihero)? You name it.
Emerald reward (10 credits)
$250 or more per month
You're awesome, and the boss you help us create is going to be just as awesome! Maybe an ancient android giant that guards a tech cache, or a horribly disfigured mutant that spits acid!
Platinum reward (20 credits)
$500 or more per month
Okay. We can't begin to express how much your support means to us, but we'll try, by having you help us make an entire world for the game, complete with boss and npc!
