Hi All, Don't know how many of you will actually see this since I haven't been very active on here but I thought I'd give you all an update on how things are going. First of all let me say that I appreciate the support you've all shown, especially since I didn't even offer anything in return. I wanted to let you know that the money you've sent on has made a tangible impact for me so here's some of the stuff I've bought with the money or will be buying soon. - A 3TB Hard Drive - In order to do my reviews I have to record an entire playthrough of each game even though I only end up using a small fraction of it. After going to that trouble I see no reason to throw that footage away since it can be useful in the future. A few months ago I maxed out all my hard drives with footage so I bought another 3TB drive to store video which should hopefully cover me for the next year or so. - An Expensive Game - Recently I started thinking about doing a new series of reviews so I picked out a series I was interested in but there was a problem. Although I had played one of the games extensively years ago I had never actually owned it and couldn't get access to it any more. In the meantime it had become hard to track down. To be honest I could have bought a used copy for a reasonable price but I wanted to be sure any potential issues I might run into with the game weren't the result of a scratched disc or something. If it hadn't been for the extra money you guys provided I might have had second thoughts about paying more than full price for a 14 year old game and as a result I might have dropped the whole series. That didn't happen though and I'm happy to say it looks like I'm about to start a new series of reviews very shortly which I think many of you will enjoy. I'm really glad things worked out this way because the series has been progressing well and it's something I enjoy talking about. - A 1080p 60fps Capture Card - Before even setting up this Patreon I had already bought two capture cards since the original one lacked a HDMI port which would be necessary for PC/Next Gen Consoles. I don't regret this since it's what enabled us to do the co-op/invasion footage in the Demon's Souls Commentary which was a really cool experience. I really enjoyed being able to flip between those two perspectives rather than just showing it from one angle. Anyway neither of those cards can capture at 1080p 60fps and Youtube seems to be moving to allow 60fps footage in the future. I figure it's best to future-proof my setup and make sure I can get 60fps footage now if I need it rather than wishing I had it later on so this was my latest purchase. Again I probably would have been much more reluctant to do this if it wasn't for you guys. - A 3DS Capture Card - Maybe it's a case of wanting what I can't have but there's been one game taunting me for quite a while now: Virtue's Last Reward. It was one of my favourite games of the past few years and I think it could make an interesting topic for a video but unfortunately there's no good way for me to get video of it at the moment. I was hoping the Vita TV would solve the issue for me but it turns out VLR is incompatible. I find the original 3DS to be quite tough on my hands because of how small it is (also I'm in the middle of a bunch of videos anyway) so I'm holding off a little longer in the hope that a 3DSXL kit becomes available from a certain supplier. At that time I'll try one out and hopefully it will allow me to finally do some videos on the Zero Escape series. It'll also open up some other games to me as well. - A Playstation TV - These things are coming out here in a month or so and I'll be picking one up even though I have a Vita since it will allow me to capture footage. I'm not really sure if/when I'll make use of it but that's the nice thing about having this funding. TL;DR: You guys have enabled me to keep my options open and make gaming purchases much easier to justify to myself which has been a weight off my mind. Thanks to you I'm able to work on the things I really want to work on rather than having to settle for second best.
