"And Moses stretched foorth his rod toward heauen, and the Lord sent thunder and haile, and the fire ranne along vpon the ground, and the Lord rained haile vpon the land of Egypt.
So there was haile, and fire mingled with the haile, very grieuous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt, since it became a nation.
And the haile smote throughout all the land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast: and the haile smote euery herbe of the fielde, and brake euery tree of the field.
Onely in the land of Goshen where the children of Israel were, was there no haile."
I have heard the phrase "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it" . . . how true that saying is, don't you think? Knowing that our God has certain things He requires of us, yet we go on doing our own thing regardless . .
Many will say that all they had to do was get saved, but if they read further into the new testament, they will find He asks us to study His Word and then be obedient.
Personally, I would rather take the few extra steps to be obedient and find favor in His eyes. The small things I do, such as not cutting my hair and not wearing pants, were so easy once I stopped rebelling.
I look at it this way . . to know He wants it done and not do it is sin. I don't want to get to heaven and have to start explaining any sin . . there has been enough backsliding and the time is now to be as 100% obedient to His Word as I possibly can.
Do you seek favor in His eyes?
Or fire raining from Heaven?
We must each choose . .
