Team Bellingham Mama Finish Line Interview (1:58)
We met so many interesting people, but LIz's accomplishment really stuck with us. She’s an ultrarunner, but after breaking her pelvis during childbirth - 10 pound babies are apparently difficult to push out - she hasn’t been able to return to running yet.

This was the first time Liz had ever given birth vaginally and just thought that her post-partum experience was normal. When she attempted to return to running she experienced excruciating pain and severe nerve damage including foot drop which means that she couldn’t flex her ankle to pull her toes up toward her head. Clearly not ideal for any runner.

Liz eventually had an MRI and it was only then that she discovered she had broken her pelvis! So, she was forced to put running in the backseat and do some other sports, and that’s when she got more serious about paddling (kinda).

In this interview she shares what finishing this 70 mile paddling challenge in under 30 hours means to her.
