NEW POEM, for reals this time: singing teeth
The prior attempt at posting this poem did not work because of the formatting, so I've attached it as a PDF.

 This poem was commissioned by David Alex Lamb, ostensibly. I kind of cheated, because he asked for a poem about choosing an opera to watch, but I couldn't find an angle to approach that topic that wasn't either (a) boring or (b) a rehash of Catherynne M. Valente's very excellent book SPACE OPERA. So I kind of just... free-associated on the topic of opera and singing for a bit and then... this came out.

I sound like I'm trying to make excuses, but I actually love this. I hope you also enjoy.
