Why does an NES cartridge have two ROM chips inside?
This video is a look at one of the more unique decisions made in the design of the NES.

Unlike most home consoles, an NES cartridge has two ROM chips, rather than just one. This has a lot of consequences, though one of the more interesting ones was how it facilitated ROM hacking once emulators became available.
