According to a press release issued by the King George Sheriff's Office, the incident took place on 11/29/18. At approximately 10:35 p.m. King George Sheriff's Office received a complaint in reference to someone shooting a deer from a vehicle near the intersection of Pine Hill Rd. and Round Hill Rd. in King George County. It was reported that the suspects’ retrieved the deer before leaving the scene.
A deputy near the area spotted the suspect vehicle on Rt. 205 heading toward Westmoreland County. The deputy got behind the vehicle which attempted to evade, leading to a vehicle pursuit.
The suspect vehicle entered Westmoreland County, leading deputies onto back roads and eventually onto Rt 628 traveling at a high rate of speed. The suspect driver lost control and crashed.
The two vehicle occupants attempted to run from the deputies. A brief foot pursuit occurred and the two men were taken into custody. The Westmoreland Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police also assisted.
The driver, 20 year old John Thomas Parks of Colonial Beach, was arrested and charged with Felony eluding, and misdemeanor offenses Reckless Driving, Driving without a valid license, Spotlighting, and Hunting during closed season. He was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail under a secured bond.
The passenger, 34 yo Paul Henry Quinn of Colonial Beach, was transported to Mary Washington Hospital for crash related injuries. He was later charged and arrested for Felony Discharge a firearm from a vehicle, Spotlighting, Transport a loaded shotgun or rifle in a vehicle, Hunting during closed season, and Hunting with an unauthorized firearm. He was released on an unsecured bond.
