How God Communicates to The Masses

How God Communicates to The Masses

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ brothers and sisters! What an amazing journey it has been to grow in the Lord along with you this year! You might have noticed that in recent years, social media platforms, youtube, and other internet based platforms have seen an increasing amount of Gospel-centered teaching. I believe we will see this continue and grow.

One reason for this is due to God’s pattern of reaching people through their primary communication method. Let me say it another way, God reaches each generation through their primary communication methods. We can see this throughout scripture! In the days of Noah, humanity primarily communicated through oral tradition. God used this to communicate his message. In the days of Moses, papyrus scrolls were the primary method of communicating concepts to the masses. Therefore, God used this and Moses wrote on such scrolls to communicate the Law and Order of God. The scroll writing form of communication was primary for humanity even during the days of the prophets. Consequently, this was God’s primary tool for his people to communicate prophecy.

During the days of Paul, Peter, and so forth, most of the human world began communicating through personal letters. It was a great form of spreading a message. Therefore, in keeping with his pattern, God used such letters to play a pivotal role in communicating his Gospel throughout the world! So what can we say to all of this? The pattern of God’s communication is veritably evident!

It is not the medium that is sacred and special, it is the Message. Whether the medium is scrolls, letters, or videos, it is of no value within itself. The value is the message on the medium. Therefore, since humanity primarily does not communicate through letters to each other, or through the public reading of scrolls…how is God to reach the masses today? Well, the question is, what is the primary communication method of today? Whatever that is, expect God to use!

Now we see why the Holy Spirit has invaded facebook, youtube, cell phones, videos, and the Internet! God knows how we are communicating (in fact he set it up, but that is another topic). This is why, you are seeing more and more Holy Spirit activity through video! Nothing has changed, God is simply doing what he has ALWAYS done: Communicating his Gospel through whatever can reach the people of that generation!

So, will God continue to use pastors, church preachers, and so forth? By All means! Even when God was using letters in the days of Paul, you still had preachers in churches! Yes God may use social media and the Internet to reach the masses. However, once they are reached, where must they go for physical encouragement within the Body of Christ? Where must they go for community worship? THE CHURCH! The Church can never be replaced. It is of profound importance for growing in one’s walk with the Lord and for fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, let us praise God for pastors, let us praise God for the church, and let us praise him for what his Spirit is doing online! God has not changed, he is always and forever the same! May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ keep you. Amen

Your brother in Christ, Jerren
