#8 Headin' Right In to Brighton

Headin' right in to Brighton to lighten my load.
I can't wait till tomorrow. I'll take Storrow Road,
'cause it moves like a current through Government Square.
Headin' right into Brighton, my peacekeeper's there.

You pass Copley abruptly, where the bombings went down -
I ain't never been from here, but Boston's my town.
I been ten ways from Fenway and livin' in sin,
so wait up for me, Brighton, I'm headin' right in.

It's the weekend on Beacon and people are out
making beelines for C lines and millin' about
gettin' foolish in Coolidge with money to spend,
but I'm bound for Brighton, the home of my friend.

When the job is a strain and my brain is a mess,
when the stampede of life leaves me beggin' for less,
when my droll little soul is too lonely to bear,
lead me right in to Brighton, my peacekeeper's there.

Gonna cherish St. Mary and pray at St. Paul,
gonna gun it at Summit right past Brandon Hall,
send the text as I'm gettin' to Englewood Bend...

Headin' right in to Brighton to brighten my day.
I got plenty of demons need frightenin' away.
When my droll little soul is too lonely to bear,
lead me right in to Brighton, my peacekeeper's there.
