Find of the Week - Snoopy Artcraft Coloring Book

If your heart strings go pop for this Snoopy Artcraft coloring book, you can find it on Etsy for just $15.

What I Love - These old Artcraft and Saalfield coloring books are just darling. In late 1960's, the cover artwork tends towards stock artwork taken directly from the comic strip. However, a lot of these early Peanuts coloring books from the late 1950's seem to have playful scenes never seen in the comic strip. They also appear a little "off-model" like they weren't drawn by Schulz. My guess is Schulz didn't have quite as much control over Peanuts artwork at this time, so compromises may have been made. Either way, I still love these early covers!

What It's Worth - At $15 for a very good, uncolored coloring book, I think this is a sweet deal. A little higher than I usually like to spend, but really, really reasonable for a 50 year old coloring book. According to the listing, someone was just going to throw this away! Thanks goodness someone had the foresight to save it.
