Update - APOC Hiatus & Patreon Pause

Hi guys! As the title says, I'm going to be taking a break from weekly updates of APOC and pausing my Patreon content for now. This might seem out of the blue, considering I just relaunched APOC a few weeks ago, but I'll detail out the reasons below.

But TL;DR - I won't be posting content for a while as I get my workflow and head in order. I'll be back when I'm back.

Essentially I've been laying down the railroad tracks as the train's been chugging ever since I moved house back before Christmas. I haven't been able to gain any buffer on APOC, doing every new page 3-5 days before release, and the 3-week break I penned out in March didn't go to plan, with medical issues and a sudden influx in commissions that were sorely needed. Suddenly I had no time to further plan and set out any APOC related content, and I was back on it again before I even knew what happened.

That, coupled with some current commission work that's 6-7 weeks in, plus other external work queuing up, and a need for some extra income, I became burnt out 2-3 weeks ago, but decided to continue anyways (bad idea) - so now I'm taking an actual break.

I need time to get other work done in a way that doesn't encroach upon my evenings and weekends. If I'm not working, I've been worrying about working. I've slowly been avoiding talking to friends. I don't like being in my study anymore. My new twitch affiliate position and 500 followers on twitter added to increasing pressure that I'm not doing enough, even when I'm doing more than I should. What I've always enjoyed and loved is not something I enjoy and love right now, and it's been a ride.

So here's what's going to happen:

I'm pausing Patreon for the foreseeable future (I fully intend to return, I just don't know when that'll be). There might be a couple of posts here and there, but you won't be charged for it.

I'm taking some days off work to gather my thoughts and de-stress for the rest of the week. After that, I'm tending to all outgoing commissions and not taking any more on for a little while after that.

Next, I'll be starting & finishing work on some anthology content (you might see some bits about this in the late summer!).

Then comes the work of prepping for my first convention, which means setting up APOC & Frolicking Freelancery for print. This is going to take a while, but I will be streaming bits and pieces as I go along

After that...I go back to APOC, take a look at the storyline and solidify what comes next. Pages will start to be made again behind a huge, comfortable buffer of maybe about 2-3 months.

Then... I re-open Patreon and resume the weekly uploads again.

So yeah, I'm going to be a while, but it's all for the best! I'll finally have time to get things done I've been needing to do for months, and at a pace that's not going to kill my joy for freelancing. Thank you for reading, and I'll be back when I'm back.

If you want to keep up with my more irregular goings-on while I'm gone, then either follow me on twitter & twitch. I also have a discord for webcomic/general artists, feel free to message me for an invite if you're interested!

Until then, have a good summer all! <3
