Summary Statement
Phonics - Segment 4 - Consonant Sound Chart and Recitation
After the mastery of letter names, students begin intensified study of consonant sound symbol relationships. Using the IA consonant sound recitation chart, students quickly learn six consonant sounds through the rhythmic recitation of a set of four picture words for each sound. The mastery of these six sounds sets a foundation for the accelerated learning of the rest of the consonant sounds. Vowel sounds are taught in the next segment after the consonant sounds are mastered.
