Adhering to some shelter-in-place orders thanks to COVID-19 and my own health challenges (NOT COVID-19), I was inspired to take some time off of my "day job" and decompress a bit.  So naturally,  I sat right down and started a different kind of work,  working on the DIY NAS: 2020 Edition.

In my process,  I like to write the words about the hardware,  then record some video about the hardware,  assemble the NAS,  and then pick back up and finish the blog at my desk.

Halfway into my 30-ounce cup of coffee,  I made a startling realization--the power supply that I'd bought,  the Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 650W, was too big!  

I'd completely overlooked that the case's specifications clearly state that an SFX or SFX-L power supply was needed for use inside the case that I'd picked.  Upon this failure,  I was reminded of why I have tend to avoid  publishing these kind of behind-the-scenes updates!

Nevertheless,  a replacement has already been ordered and while the assembly will have to wait a few days--I'll keep writing about the components!
