EDIT: I updated Kalem to include his level and class. If I use the Advanced rules in the future, I'll add a line for race.
Hey everyone, my new NPC card featuring an elf named Kalem represents a shift in the presentation of the NPC cards. I wanted it to reflect more of what I am doing these days. I've been using Old School Essentials now for the past few years so the stat block represents that system. It took a few versions to settle on this one.
Kalem represents a new way of thinking for an ancient race that moves very slow. He understands if the elves continue in their current philosophy they will die out. Kalem wants to move into a new age where the elves integrate with the other races. Of course there are issues with taking that action. In my campaign the elves, specifically the group Kalem is in, live in a burnt forest in a cold and hostile environment. They live off the land. And they still fend off the demons that crawl through the rifts that appear within their homeland. They rely on no one to assist them. But their numbers are dwindling.
Kalem and his group the Waning Crescents, make an interesting group to introduce because of their dynamic views. The elves have a lot to offer the other races, but there has been such a disconnect for ages that the trust is no there. I love developing small groups that change the landscape of a campaign.
I hope you enjoy!
