This is what I've been working on the past few weeks. I plan to set it out on the street in front of my house. I've been making tiny works of art and others are contributing. We'll see what happens!
I was inspired by the Little Free Library phenomenon, of course. If you don't have one in your neighborhood, you can get plans to build one or you can buy a kit.
An obvious thought occurred to me: why not make one for art? Very small art? Seed a little gift economy? It's orthogonal to the art game. It's aesthetic mutual aid. And encouragement to make art, an activity all humans can benefit from. Don't let anyone tell you that you aren't an artist because you can't draw a horse that looks like a horse. Make something small. Give it away for free. Encourage others to do the same.
