There is a 25-feet-tall statue of a local folk hero named Tai-Kalum. He was a half-orc fruit vendor who rose to prominence after he confronted the local thugs, killed one of their leaders, lead the populace against those baddies, and then died a hero in the final skirmish. Today, he is remembered as a hero who fought for the safety and values of the common folk.
A new band of itinerant brigands has taken the statue as a good place to collect unlawful tolls to merchants and travelers on the road. A halfling merchant is their current victim when the adventurers arrive at the scene and are asked to pay the toll too. However, even if the adventurers comply and pay the toll, the brigands shall attempt to rob them of everything they possess.
