Sleepy Slyph Battlemaps

I have been working through the RPG Writer Workshop to create my first DMs Guild one shot. I decided to set the adventure in Waterdeep as I have been running a campaign there for 2+ years now. The Sleepy Slyph is where the adventure begins, and I wanted a combat there. To kill two birds with one stone, I made these battlemaps for the adventure and for free.

Neither TSR nor WoTC have published an official map of the Sleepy Slyph. These battlemaps are original. I based the maps and the buildings' size on the street corner on the City of Waterdeep map and scaled them up to 5 ft per square inch.

Volo's Guide to Waterdeep locates the Sleepy Slyph on the southwest corner of the intersection of Rainrun and Snail Streets. It caters to Waterdeep's visitors with scantily clad servers. I added glow glows to these maps, which is a first because I texts commonly mention them in association with Waterdeep. I added glow glows to these maps, which is a first because I texts commonly mention them in association with Waterdeep. There are four floors to the tavern:

  • Basement - is used for the storage of alcohol as well as the restrooms for the guests. The toilets on this floor are the only restrooms in the tavern. There is a secret door under the stairs between the storage area and the restroom area.
  • Floor 1 - Contains the bar and servants access to the basement storage area.  This area is for the smaller parties, those looking for closer access to the bar or an easy exit.
  • Floor 2 - Is the main drinking area for parties. There are many tables and a drink closet to help staff refill drinks without going to the bar.
  • Floor 3 - Is for private parties. There are areas with curtains to block sound and one room with a closable door. Servers have to go down to the second or first floor to retrieve drink orders.

Each map is 15 X 15 squares. I exported each map with and without lighting, with grids, gridless and a single square grid, three different resolutions, and pdf versions of the map in letter and A4 format (for US and EU players). I have also added with this release a high-resolution version of the maps. In this version, I bump up the contrast and the light by 1.5x. My goal is to make the maps more accessible for people with vision difficulties. Let me know what you think if you use them and any ideas you have for improving them. All of the assets in the maps are from the Forgotten Adventures asset packs.
