We are at entry 50, would you believe it? Only 315 left to go :)

I felt this merry-go-round images was befitting to celebrate the 50th entry in a row. This is a picture I took in 2009 in London, it was coming up to Christmas, so as always the South bank had beautiful Christmas markets and the whole city of London has their lights on.

But what does a merry-go-round have to do with self development?! Well, if you consider your own life doesn't it sometimes feel like you are on an eternal merry-go-round? You start of somewhere in the hope that you will evolve, just to be taken back to the start again, and somewhere in between you loose your way, but then something brings you back to base. It's like that window maze, you think you found the exit just to bump your nose into the nex window. So if you feel that we are going round and round with our themes about the self, it is becuase we are, and with every turn we discover something new about ourselves. The sentences may seem to repeat themselves, but you are no longer the person you were the day before, therefore your response or reaction may be different.

So how do you get off this wheel of life?Well it is a wheel for a reason, we start off then we deveop, then we go back and start again. Of course this would also mean that you are revisiting the old and projecting the new. If things were not cyclical, we would be stuck in seing only one aspect of our selves and the world. So I am wondering how many of you stay fixed in your beliefs without moving? Do you hold a belief, that if tested maybe it no longer held validity? Do you hold a view point which you find difficult to give up, just because you are stuck in fighting your corner?

I revisited the Matrix trilogy and it suprised me to recognise that within the theme of the film so many philosophical concepts are present that link with the exploration of purpose and self, themes that when i saw the trilogy the first time I missed. What made the difference is that I am in a different place on the path of discovery than I was the first time around. So then I also propose that you too, may be in a different place in your life, though you are still spinning around the same axes, and the same world.

So now that the merry-go-round spins around once move, what difference do you recognise within yourself, that perhaps you have not noticed before?

As always join in the conversation in a comment, or journal your thoughts. We are ready to evolve, join us on the journey of discovery.
