I've just replied to the editor about a few changes to my short story Closure which will appear in the horror anthology X6 by Thirteen O'Clock Press. This has been forever in coming, but it shouldn't be too much longer now. I first submitted this over 2 years ago. I have a knack for submitting to publishers that take ages to get books out, it seems. Perhaps in the future I'll make better choices. When you get older, you like to see your horror stories published before you gain first-hand knowledge of the great beyond.
Closure is about a young woman trying to get past a terrible part of her life and runs into a situation for which she hadn't planned. It is a horror story, after all.
I also have a poem in this anthology. It's called Among the Bones. It's only one sentence long, so if you don't like poetry, you won't have to suffer too much. It's quite a romantic piece, however, if I do say so myself.
Getting the poem published has taken even longer than the story. I first submitted it on July 27, 2016. It was accepted and was supposed to go into the Thirteen O'Clock Press anthology called The Dance. Somehow, it was left out (I suppose it's easy since it's only one sentence long...) and the editor asked if it was acceptable to put it into the X6 anthology. I agreed to that. Didn't know it would take five years in all.
Just think about that. If I can only get one sentence published every five years, I'm in trouble. Even at professional rates, it's difficult to make money doing that. Maybe I should write longer sentences?
In summary, I have some new stuff coming out within what should be a reasonable amount of time. I don't have a cover image yet, but I'll pass that along when it's available. I only hope it will be on Amazon as well as Lulu since many folks don't like Lulu's shipping fees. And it is easier to promote on Amazon.
Until then, I've attached a preliminary table of contents (PDF) with all the authors and their stories! Maybe you'll see another author you like!
