This update is unfortunately late, because I have had a bout of illness. Not covid, fortunately, but Swedish spring brings many other viruses into the open. Anyhow, my accomplishments in March:
- Basker Blå: I have progressed nicely with this West African setting for Eloso's horror RPG Chock åter från graven. Now I know exactly what the text will contain and what remains is filling out the "blank spots".
- Expert Partisan*: Every Easter, enthusiastic gamers in Gothenburg arrange Sweden's biggest game con, called Gothcon. This year, covid forced them to turn the 44th Gothcon into a virtual net-based event. We at Eloso ran several panels and games. At the first panel, I explained that we are going to develop Expert Partisan**, a Cold-War RPG in an occupied Sweden. There is a detailed article in Swedish about the project in my blog The Dream Forge (link >>> ). Expert Partisan belongs to Eloso's new product line Eloso by Blixt, indie-style games written by me and my sidekicks and powered by the Expert Nova rules (a streamlined variant of BRP 1D20) that I published in 2019 (link >>> ). Publication is preliminarily scheduled for 2023.
The premise: the year is 1982 and since six months southern Sweden is occupied by Warsaw Pact forces, whereas the war continues in the spruce forests in northern Sweden. The adventurers are guerillas, spies or ordinary civilians in the southern province of Småland, which is occupied by the East German army.
*The Swedish trademark Partisan is owned by Fria Ligan/Free League. Eloso uses it by their permission.
**A brief explanation for foreigners: in 1987, Target Games planned to make a game about resistance fighters in an occupied Sweden, aptly called Partisan. We made a lot of buzz about that game, but in the end we canceled it during development for business reasons. Partisan then became a legend among Swedish gamers. A few years back, the sole remaining copy of the game (a backup paper printout of a work in progress) surfaced.
