Newsletter September/October 2021

Hey everyone! The new newsletter is here, to bring you news in form of letters, and words and such.

September has been one heck of a ride. Teacher stuff incoming, if you just care about the comic stuff, just skip this paragraph^^. What I aimed at was to compress my art teacher business in order to leave more room for the comic. Not everything has gone according to plan, but it's getting there.
So the plan was : get rid of the most annoying students, put most of the rest of them in small groups, make them pay less, get more students at the same time, clear the schedule, win-win! But as it turned out, there weren't enough of them with matching schedules, or enough of them in the vincinity, to really make it work. This led me to accept too many of them, and soon my schedule was overcrowded.
So, I got to thinking, and dusted off one of my old, crazy ideas. I'm in the suburbs, with very few competitors, and this allowed me to get a pretty well-SEO'd teacher page. What if... I moved the classes to Paris? I did, on paper at least, and started getting a very positive response, BUT... I had no place to welcome the new students.
So, I began searching, and, as I'm really not rich, had to get creative^^. There were a lot of up and downs, and, while I'm emotionally prepared to them, they take much time.
I eventually found a place that I could rent by the hour, already did two classes in it, and it's great, though really far.
Right now I'm searching for a closer one and might have a good lead. Most of the trouble should be over and the classes should start to slowly compress into a more time-efficient form, leaving, as planned, more room for comic stuff.

This explains better, I hope, the irregularities there has been in page posting and page quality. However, as I was focused on delivering them on time, more secondary stuff that I would have liked to develop (finish the last printable version, building a network around the comic through doing fanarts, the tutorial, sorrrryyyyyyyy) were put on hold, again.
Even if things are looking up again, these weeks have been stressful and tiring, so I might not be operating at 100% while I try to rest up a bit. But soon, I hope!

On another topic : it's October! The month of illustration madness! When every illustrator gets half of their yearly views! I tried a pretty bold move and hosted a challenge myself, one of the #knightober prompts. It's paying off, not spectacularly, but still, and goes the way of introducing new readers to the comic. If you'd like, go check the illustrations! I do one a day, and each adds a little stone to The Little Warrior's lore. I'll post all of them here, in HD, when it's all over.

In November, I'll begin working on a short comic with Dragon Ball Multiverse on the side. I've been wanting to do one for them for ten years, and it's finally time! And, their reader base is huge, so this could be great advertisement.

And that's about it for this month!

As always, thank you for reading, thank you for being there.
And until next time, may the Golems guide you through obstacles and peril, to the place you need to reach.

Ambroise.
