5E D&D Gamma World Monster: Echost
This is the latest entry in a series of creatures I converted for Fifth Edition Dungeons & Dragons to be used in my son's new Gamma World hexcrawl campaign. You can download all 150+ monsters here
This transparent humanoid has a visible mechanical endoskeleton.

Echosts were the proxy devices of the rich. When the world became too violent to venture outside, mind projection into echosts allowed the wealthy to take vacations without fear of being ransomed. They became the domain of the jaded and thrillseekers, those who could push their mechanical bodies to limits no frail human could sustain. Life was a big party, and then the apocalypse came.

Millions died, including the echost’s controllers. What exactly was left behind is a matter of debate: are they robots imprinted with human personalities or are they humans trapped in robot bodies? Whatever they are, echosts act all too human; observing a echost is a lot like stepping back in time to see what humans were like before the apocalypse. And that is the promise and the tragedy that every echost must bear.
