5E D&D Gamma World Monster: N-Falcon
 
 This is the latest entry in a series of creatures I converted for Fifth Edition Dungeons & Dragons to be used in my son's new Gamma World hexcrawl campaign. You can download all 150+ monsters here
This monstrous metal bird has the morphology and dull, ruddy plumage of smaller raptors, but its wings and claws glimmer in the sunlight, and its eyes gleam red.

The N-falcon stands 6 1/2 feet high at rest, and has a 26-foot wingspan. Its falcon-like head is covered in shiny metal armor that contrasts sharply with its ruby-red scanning eyes. Built into the eyes are sensors capable of identifying genetic contamination strong enough to make a target no longer pure-strain (by the standards of the N-falcon’s makers). The body is covered in metal feathers, which can project camouflaging holograms. The wing-tip feathers are razor-sharp and highly polished so as to enhance their intimidation value.

N-falcons move in pairs and prefer to attack with wings or claws. They circle their prey, watching for any movement towards their guarded location; if their prey stops advancing, they return to their places and continue to guard. 

After killing their prey, the birds devour the remains and transform it into energy. Bones and indigestible remains fall to the ground as droppings, which the N-falcons obliterate with laser attacks after scavengers finish their work.

N-falcons defend ruins and sites of ancient technology, which makes them thankfully rare as they tend to decimate all life under their purview.

Camouflage. The n-falcon has advantage on   Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide while in the air.

Detect Life. The n-falcon can sense the   presence of living humanoids up to 5 miles away that aren't undead or   constructs. It can determine if the humanoid is a pure-strain human on a 10 Perception check.

Keen Sight.   The n-falcon has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Multiattack.   The n-falcon makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its talons.

  • Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +6   to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.
  • Talons. Melee Weapon Attack:   +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 3) slashing   damage.

Laser Eyes (Recharge 5-6). The n-falcon fires a   laser in a 60-foot line. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Dexterity   saving throw, taking 24 (7d6) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as   much damage on a successful one.
