Hi sweet folks, happy February. I hope you're staying warm and happy wherever you make your home. Are you ok out there? I'll have you know I'm always here to listen if you're feeling not so great, need to vent, have some fun news to share or whatever. HMU as the kids say. They probably don't say that anymore. Anywho, it's been chilly but I've been busy, and everyone here is healthy so I will not complain. Got some things to share with you this month and they go a little something like this:
February's Listen Local Show is now playing and it's a good one! Songs and messages from San Diego, The High Desert, Boston, Australia... you're gonna dig the variety in our playlist. Play it on Soundcloud or where you hear your podcasts. Yes, even stupid Spotify.
Manage Participants is fun. It's called that b/c as a Zoom Host that's what you see on your screen, a button that says, "Manage Participants" and after the drunken holiday party that inspired this series, it felt appropriate to call it that. Check out the latest episodes and catch up with folks you know and meet some you don't!
All of our retreats have been posted on the calendar at HartAcres.info/calendar and if you're interested in joining us for one or two you should rsvp asap as they are sure to sell out again. We're keeping them smaller, more intimate, and safe for all but still jam packed full of fun. Besides our retreats you can bring your band up for a getaway and take photos, write songs, film a video and more! Holler at me and let's customize your band field trip! It's fun. Just ask Jill when she gets out of the shower. Our hot water never runs out so you may have to wait a while...
Make time for music!! It's something I tell myself constantly, but I never listen. The only time I play lately is during the monthly song circle on zoom (last Sunday of the month 4 to 6, ink us!) so since that seems to work, I've decided to plan a few random Friday night zooms wherein people who also may need inspiration from others and a set time to pick up their instrument will be invited to join and play their new songs or get advice on lyrics or cowrite or just hang out because it's Friday and you're home alone. 5pm to 7pm beginning Friday the 11th and maybe a get together on Valentines Day since my old man will be out of town *sigh* Anyway, watch for some random musical Zoom get togethers and please join me. There's music to be made, just ask the green guys.
Commissioned to make art. It's like, the best thing there is. Ever. This current stop motion project has been so fun, the client gave me plenty of time, so I've been able to really experiment and try new things. I'm just about done with production and then filming begins. I'm hoping to have the project delivered by mid-February, I'll make sure and let you know when it's live. Also, all of the art I've made for this project will be for sale so if you fall in love with one of the characters you can take them home with you. :) In other news, Calamity's song Earthquake Girl is finished and fabulous, we'll show you when we release our video and behind the scenes look at the "making of" at Chaos Recorders coming this Spring. Super excited to be performing with The Desert Drama Club on March 19th at Furstworld in Joshua Tree, click the link and behold! More about that later, save the date! In between the fun I'll be working on remodeling the shed here at Hart Acres into an indoor event space for our guests to escape the often-unpredictable wind, etc. We're also babysitting a friend's tiny trailer which will be ready for you to cozy up in, soon. Lots of projects and upgrades and maybe I'll even get my cowboy pool this year!
That's it for this month, sweet supporters. THANK YOU. Thanks for listening to the show, for watching the shows, for reading this. Thank you to my Patreon peeps, your financial contribution makes it all possible. Thank you to those who hire me to make art or take pictures or sing on your tracks or when you buy a jacket from my store...it all helps and makes it possible for me to continue sharing music, art, and all the good stuff. I hope you know how much I appreciate you. Thank you. Until next month, have fun and be safe out there. xo
