This story originally appeared in Secret Loves of Geeks (Dark Horse, 2018). The assignment was to do an autobio story about my relationship to a geeky piece of media, and how it reflects on my relationships with other people.

I chose to write about a little-known sci-fi movie called "Star Wars."

That was my second Luke figure to lose his head, hence my curmudgeonly declaration.
