Hey folks! 'Seuss on the Loose' has been going well so far. I had twenty-one people in the first week. This dropped to five last week, likely due to the really nice weather. We'll see how many show up this Friday.
So far we've read Fox in Socks and made Fox in Socks bag puppets the first week. Last week we watched the 1970's Horton Hears a Who and made tissue paper clovers with Who specks on them. This week we'll read The Sneetches and make Sneetch masks!
Here's me dressed as The Cat in the Hat to the amusement of my coworkers, kids, and various parents. I've three more Fridays of wearing a tail for the last hour and a half of work. Then I'm done with storytimes for a bit as we switch to our summer science-based programing.
This Thursday is also the first Little STEAMers program. I'm a little nervous about that one, but it means I get to be outside on the library's lawn for a little over an hour, which will be nice.
After some debate, I decided to apply for the full-time Librarian I position that was open at the DPL. It will mean moving downstairs, but will allow me to do more adult programing as well as collection development. While I love being up in Juniors', I'd like the chance to use my MLS skills more. The increase in pay doesn't hurt either, to be honest. I turned in my application last Thursday and will hopefully hear back in the next few weeks.
