Adventures in Library Land: I've some reading to do

Hey folks! I unfortunately spend most of yesterday asleep. While this means I didn't get any work done, I do seem to be better for it. The coughing is still there, but it's much, much calmer than it was over the last weekend. I was having hacking fits so bad, they were giving me headaches! I'll dose myself up with more over the counter meds tonight and be asleep by 9pm again. Anything to finally get this nonsense out of my hair.

As you can see in the photo above, my Amazon list was raided! Thank you! The result is I now have a lot of reading to do! While I had courses on teen development in college, I'm completely ignorant about the younger set. Since I wasn't planning on working with little ones, I hadn't signed up for any child development courses. I'm now rushing to learn what I can. This means my 'Year of Classic Lit' project may be taking a backseat for a while.

Today I went in for an hour long training session for the library's program booking software. It was pretty interesting! I'll be adding my first program to the library's calendar this evening. Once the proposal paperwork is approved, I'll release my little baby out into the wild and we'll see what happens.

In the meantime I've been working on a few other program ideas for the summer. I've another meeting to attend tomorrow morning before I'm actually due in to work. At this one I'll hear what's being planned so far for the summer as well as pitch a few of my own ideas. It should be fun!

I also learned that there's a three hour online course on serving homeless patrons that I'm required to take. Hopefully I can start that in a couple of days.

I'm still hoping things will calm down here soon so I can return to a somewhat normal art schedule for you all. I'm sure hearing me ramble on about library stuff isn't terribly interesting. I mean, I find it interesting, but we all know I'm an oddball. I appreciate you all sticking with me through this chaos. Thanks everyone!
