Here's what happening behind the scenes at Game Soup this week.
The new analysis audio is recorded and is currently being cut together. The raw footage, which includes line flubs and retakes, clocks in at 45 minutes. We're aiming for less than 20 minutes in the end, but if that's not feasible, we'll probably split it up into two halves and air the second video not long after the first. Attached is a short audio preview of some of the stuff we'll discuss in the analysis. Just talking about Gheed gets me all nostalgic for late nights on a dial-up modem...
As far as the channel releases this week, it'll be a mystery even to me, but here's what's likely to show up:
A Wild Game Appears! - Alwa's Awakening (PC) - You could tell me that this 2D platformer was actually released on the NES and I would have fallen for it, hook, line, and sinker. It's a great throwback to Metroid and Castlevania with lots of great game design bits throughout.
N64 Games - Mario Tennis, War Gods, Biofreaks - Tommy Pickles from Rugrats is hit by an oncoming train in this episode. We break down our top five worst fears. We send a robotic bull into a meat grinder on purpose.
Glass Breaker Devlog - It's all coming together! Finalized art, over 20 new levels, more intelligent enemies, and a more terrifying ghost! Also, did we mention this game is really hard (even for us)? Player testing and feedback will be happening soon. The write-up for this devlog will be released here on the Patreon when the Devlog goes out.
We were originally going to cover Splasher this week, but we had some trouble with Steam key authentication, so that's on the back burner for now.
Thank you as always for your support. Have a great week!
