And now we wait.
Jello salads and such are a tradition in my neck of the woods, but they're also frustrating in that you have to take a four hour break between steps. This is going in tonight, to be continued tomorrow.

Family recipes are funny things. My family has been making this one since I was, oh, eight or so. We have copies of it floating around. I used to have it memorized. I messaged my dad to check the ratios of cream cheese to Dream Whip, since it's been a few years since I last made it. The quickest version of the recipe that he had to hand was one where he'd multiplied the whole thing x20 for the Winter Rendezvous.

At least I could see what the ratio was. 2 cream cheese to 1 Dream Whip. Check.

Also, the store did not have Dream Whip. I'm going to have to substitute REAL whipping cream. So I had to look up how much 1 package of Dream Whip makes when it's prepared (about 2 cups), and then how much heavy cream that would take to make a similar amount of whipped cream (about 1 cup). And, of course, Dream Whip can't be overwhipped, but whipping cream can, so I'll have to figure that out when I get to it.
