Ant Village Journal #19 : Fire, Food, and Making Holes for Posts
It's my first few days back, and I'm getting right to work felling trees for future projects and getting materials ready for the retaining walls on my house. On the 4th of July Paul and Jocelyn hosted a barbeque down at basecamp, so we got some good food and good company. While digging a post hole for the wall, I realize the value of having the right tools and knowing where they are, as well as how much faster work goes when you have a little help.

This video is made a little different from my past videos, I am trying out a new style.  I've found that pausing to film while I am working really slows things down, then editing together all the shots and narrating over them is very time consuming as well.  From now on I plan to film a bit of a re-cap of what I have been up to at the end of each day, and fill in with shots and moments I catch throughout the day.  I've got a new video camera thanks to a generous donor, so I can now include some close up shots of the beautiful wildlife and plants that abound in the Ant Village.  The videos will be a bit more raw, but it will allow me to put out more videos and I hope it will give the viewers an even closer look into what life is really like out here in the woods.  As always, I would appreciate your feedback.

This new style of video also means that I intend to increase the number of videos I put out each month from 2-4, to 4-8.  If you need to budget your giving you can always adjust your maximum monthly donation via your payment settings on Patreon.com.  Thank you all for your ongoing support,  It warms my heart to have all of you believing in what I am doing.
