Beyond The Filter 22 - The Discourse with Briahna Joy Gray
greetings! on this episode i talk with Briahna Joy Gray, a lawyer and writer from NYC, and co-host of the SWOTI podcast. a lot of her work aims to get to the heart of very difficult societal discussions like intersections of class and identity, cultural appropriation, where and when we should debate fascists, and many other relevant topics in a refreshingly nuanced but also no-nonsense way.

we talk about her background as a writer, we end up debating each other for awhile about pop culture vs. independent media (and i awkwardly stumble over my words trying to express my positions, lol), and then talk about how to engage with reactionaries, some of the misconceptions and problems of current left-wing discourse (and online discourse around politics in general), and how to use the internet and social media to help build bridges and solve problems. this was definitely a stimulating conversation and i'm so happy she came on to have it!
