BIG could help the county save money by helping keep the impoverished out of prison.
Having a Basic Income Guarantee payed to people living in poverty would lower crime rates and thus keep more people from going to prison.
By having less people in prison then we save about $40,000 - $50,000 a year in tax money by cutting costs such as food, medical care, prison guards, maintenance, laundry ect.
Just one more reason why BIG is affordable. Paying a basic income of 10,000 would in some cases save another 40,000. so in these cases would practically be profitable to the government and society and this is just one example of how.
What better incentive or way to rehabilitate people could there be then to take care of them, increase their chance of a better future all while saving tax money.
