Blog 21: Death Clubs
This week was a little bit of salty and sweet. We start out with the sweet, though! The Kiwi Coffin Club of New Zealand, founded by senior citizen Katie Williams, brings older folks together to have tea and build their own coffins!

Barring the worst Kiwi accent ever, Raygun tells you a little bit about how it started and describes some of the coffins.

One member, obsessed with the King, decorated her coffin with pictures of Elvis Presley!

This club helps the members save money while making friends and coming to grips with mortality.

The club was even the subject of a musical documentary directed by Briar March, a female filmmaker from New Zealand who took an interest in the death positive group.

Also in this episode, Sarah goes into the 27 Club. How many people do you know that won't use white lighters and don't even know why?

Among the 27 Club are Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse, and Kurt Cobain. All dying at 27 and, allegedly, with a white lighter on their person. But can that really be proven?

However, you're not really more prone to dying at 27 just because you play music or use a white lighter. But try telling that to the white guy with dreads. He won't believe you.

Rapper Fredo Santana also recently died at 27, as did musical legend Robert Johnson who was rumored to have sold his soul to the devil.

Is there any weight to this? Was Amy Winehouse an Illuminati sacrifice? YOU TELL US.
