Book/Event Review: The Memory of Silence
This semester (Spring 2017) one of my assigned books was The Memory of Silence by Uva de Aragon. She also came to give a talk on campus, which my professor gave us extra credit for attending. Here are some of my thoughts that I wrote up after the event.

I highly recommend The Memory of Silence/ Memoria del Silencio. My understanding of the history of Cuba, and what that was actually like for citizens, feels incredibly enriched by this book. Many gaps in my knowledge of Cuban history were filled in in a way that made them relevant to actual human lives. If you know me personally, I'd be happy to lend you the book (if I can find my copy).
