Boy Edgar's Big Band
Born in Amsterdam on March 31, 1915 George Willem Fred Edgar (known as Boy Edgar) was one of the Netherlands most important jazz composers and arrangers.

In 1969 Edgar was contacted by Radio Netherlands to take part in series of special recordings for the transcription service. While Radio Netherlands Transcription Service had been releasing Dutch jazz for sometime. This was however the first ever recording session made at the Radio Netherlands studio in stereo.

Studio 11  had been re-fitted with the latest Philips and Telefunken equipment.

This session was recorded on June 6, 1969 and was taken from the original 4 track 15ips (ips - inches per-second) studio master.

None of the sessions that took part of that date were ever made available commercially.
