This morning I made myself sit down to finish some songs, and I wound up writing a whole new song. I'm still working on the intro and outros, but I hope this will give you an idea of where it's going.

I'm super excited that I got it written AND a demo recorded, which I'm attaching to this post. It's based on one of my favorite short stories, "Out of All Them Bright Stars" by Nancy Kress.

I really trying to push myself to practice recording and editing, so I appreciate y'all being my guinea pigs. <3

Lyrics:

Out of all them bright stars

Why did he have to come here?

With his bird calls and politeness,

What difference does he make?

Out of all them bright stars

Up there beyond the clouds

It's not a mirror, not the future

I won't see nothing else

You need this job so you need Charlie

Great big bully that he is

Keep your head down, fill the ketchup

That's when your eyes see into his

Chorus

Do what the g-men tell you

Answer all their questions now

Straight faces, smug dismissals

That's judgment by a brow

Chorus

My stinging balled-up fury

Futility and shame

Why did you hold the mirror,

And say your bird call name?
