Cairning by the river

Between 2 busy weeks, I took Sunday afternoon off for a hike/picnic/photo walk/cool rock gathering expedition with my fellow artist friend Grace. We visited the portal so she could see it and had a picnic of berries and chocolate cake under the archway. Then we "hiked" around looking for pretty things to photograph. I put my feet in the water, even though it wasn't quite warm enough for swimming yet.

The most relaxing park was just sitting on our blanket looking out over the water and sicking through the rocks and sand. We both collected hagstones and seashells, stacked small rocks in little cairns as the sun started sinking. It was a good mental reset before a week that will undoubtably exhaust me- I have a market on Thursday on top of all my regular work.

Every month you'll receive a pair of earrings that I make! This allows me to play with materials and techniques that aren't part of my normal oeuvre. On the list of things I want to try: gold leaf, resin, tiny handprinted details on laser cut wood, and inlay techniques. This also includes access to regular secret blog posts detailing the process and how I came up with the idea. This reward level also makes a great gift!
