Here's infrared footage shot by CHP from one of their aircraft of the Camp Fire. Note the aircraft lat long appears in the lower left, and the lat long of the target cursor appears in the lower right. CHP operates one of the largest law enforcement fleets in the country. They have 16 helicopters and 16 planes (a mix of Cessna 206 and GippsAero GA8 Airvans) based at 8 airports supporting their 8 divisions around the state. In 2010, I flew for a couple of hours in one of their 206s, for an article I wrote for EAA's Sport Aviation magazine.
