Change the color of an object in GNU Image Manipulation Program
The GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a free image editor. This week marks the 20th birthday of the GIMP, and we'll celebrate by beginning our 20 Weeks of GIMP Tips series!

When we post products in our store, sometimes we have access to other colors, but don't actually have that color on hand to snap a picture. Using a cool (and ultra easy) technique in the GIMP we're able to [for example] snap a picture of a blue product, and make it yellow. The effect is virtually perfect. You'd be hard-pressed to determine the color to be fake.

Note: I have attached a zip file--cars.zip--to this post. It contains the original images and the re-colored versions we created live on the air. Please feel free to download the file and see for yourself how the effect looks in full resolution.

On another note, PasswordBox is shutting down. We have inside information to share about what PasswordBox users can expect, what you need to do, and how to upgrade to the replacement product... True Key by Intel Security.

Enjoy the show, and thank you so much for supporting Category5 TV.
