Welcome to my effort to help you playing the saxophone. Everyday I teach, I am faced with young and old players of all skills that don't know some simple basic information that could really propel their ability to make the saxophone sound really nice.

All the parts...

The mouthpiece, ligature, reed, neck, body, and strap. Putting it all together and then taking it all apart. Holding and navigating the horn.

Your first notes...

6 fingers, 10 notes

Practice then don't...

Things you should do EVERY TIME you play the saxophone.

Hopefully with these basics in place, anybody with a saxophone should be able to produce a meaningul sound. By that I mean something a little more pleasing than a duck being squeezed.

Peace.
