So, back in August of last year, I predicted that I'd be done with all of the various Final Fantasy IV stuff around March. Guess what? My guess was, in fact, perfectly accurate. Despite not having been certain of how many columns all of this would take up, I got it right. Go me! We're on to the last of the individual tales this week, and while the last tale was a return to form this one feels a bit less vibrant. I don't want to outright call it bad, because it's not, but it's lacking a certain degree of inspiration. It's an attempt to cash in on a villain's popularity, and like so many attempts to do so it winds up kind of shortchanging the villain and the original context.
