Built in the early 1920's, this building started out as the Judkins-Forbes Hotel. This was their second hotel. Originally, the Judkins was a wood frame building that sat next to Warehouse Willys. The Forbes Hotel was across the street. They combined to build this building, which became the nicest and largest hotel in Poteau. Later, when motor lodges became more popular, fewer people stayed in hotels. This became the Curry Nursing Home. It is no longer standing; the site where it once stood is now the parking lot of the funeral home downtown.
