Here's this week's newsletter for ya!
Note: If you're not already in the Facebook group, here's the link to join.
Living in this world without trying to be of it: a daily challenge. And one of the most helpful things for me in this pursuit, apart from marriage, has been friendship -- friendship with others who are also wading through these waters and trying to decipher God's call. Their companionship and solidarity give me the strength and desire to try again each day and to turn away from the things mentioned in yesterday's second reading -- immorality, greed, selfishness -- and the reminder that this world is our ship & not our home.
What helps keep you in check in reference to these qualities? Is it quarterly or monthly confession? Talking with your husband or closest friends about how you're struggling and how you can improve? Or maybe little signs -- quotes & notes you've written and taped to your fridge, a statue of Mary by your kitchen sink?
If you don't have something in place in your life right now helping you to remember to think of Heaven, to think of what is above, I encourage you to think about incorporating more of that into your life.
Pray with me...
Father in Heaven, I want to remember that this world is my ship and not my home. I want to remember this and to live by this, but I struggle... You know how I struggle. Please give me the strength to live this out day by day. I need Your help all over again each morning. Please give me the graces to remain strong in my faith and to not conform to anything other than what You desire for me. Amen.
That's all for now!
Praying for you beautiful women this week -- that you may feel seen, known and loved for who you are.
